Why Lucy is Perfection!

It occurred to me that I talk, and post pictures, a LOT about Oscar, and of course, of my fosters. This blog is supposed to be about my fosters, but sometimes there just isn’t much to say. Especially lately, since I was taking a break from fostering, and now with a 12 week old puppy, while life is exciting in person, there isn’t much to say blog-wise. So, I’ve turned to Oscar because he ALWAYS has something going on! He is such a character, and has that ongoing love affair with the red pillow. And now with the leash reactive issue, it gives me stuff to talk about. I don’t however, talk much about Lucy. She isn’t really much of a cuddler, so there aren’t extra cute pictures of her to share on a regular basis. She doesn’t have any major issues to talk about. In fact, she is the BEST dog I’ve ever had or known. SO, today’s post is devoted to my Princess Lucy, and the top 10 reasons she is fabulous!

Lucy1

#1-She kills bugs. It doesn’t matter where she is in the house, or what she is doing. If I call her, she will find and kill the bug. Size or type is of no concern! AND she does it while hopping around, dancing and jumping with excitement, so it’s entertaining & much appreciated!

#2-She is not food crazy. I can leave a plate of food within her reach and walk out of the room. She will not touch it!

#3- Her fur is as soft as silk. People always comment on how soft she is. I don’t know where she gets it from, and I thought for sure that it’d go away after puppyhood, but she’s still got it!

#4-She is ALWAYS up for a car ride. It doesn’t matter where I’m going, how long or short the trip is. She is ready to ride!

#5-She hardly every barks! Some people might like a loud tough sounding dog, but not me. After living in apartments and townhouses for most of my adult life, you get used to the sounds of doors slamming, cars driving by, people talking. To have a dog alert you to every one of these sounds would be a bit much! I am so thankful for my quiet girl. The only time she barks is if something scares her. And on that rare occasion, it definitely prompts me to see what is going on.

#6-She is nuts about squirrels and lizards! She loves to watch them through the windows. She will spend HOURS on end, outside searching for them.

#7-Her tail is always wagging. It wags when you look at her. It wags when you smile at her. It wags in her sleep. Seriously. It is ALWAYS wagging.

#8-She has airplane ears. They stick out like wings. Sometimes only one at a time; sometimes both at the same time. It always makes me giggle.

#9-She loves to run free. I love this about her because I think every dog would enjoy the chance to run and roam free in a safe setting, and Lucy enjoys it to the fullest extent! It doesn’t matter it if it’s a muddy area, the beach, or a park. She will run, and she will be happy.

#10-She loves everyone and every thing. (well, except cats!) Lucy has been great with every foster that has come our way. She puts up with my mom’s dogs that are less than nice to her! She wants to say hello to any human or dog that passes our way. She just smiles and lives her life. Our world might be a better place if everyone lived life like my Lucy! 😉

  1. OMG, that picture of her up to her elbows in mud is amazing. Yay, Lucy! I love that she can be a muddy princess. Thank god for the easy, dog, right? 😉

  2. I loved learning more about your sweet girl! It definitely sounds like she is worthy of a post all her own. I loved the mud picture as well… she looks like a fox at first glance! I can relate to a lot of this list, especially the bug hunting and the airplane ears 🙂 I am so impressed that she is so great with other dogs!

  3. It’s so obvious that you both share a loving bond…she sounds like such a wonderful girl. You are both so lucky to have found each other.
